Welcome to the Roaring Fork Jazz website.
I'm a musician in the Roaring Fork Valley, on the western slope of the Colorado Rockies, in the United States. This site functions as both my professional website, and as the home for the "Roaring Fork Jazz Workshop". Main links on top point to both functions, with "Philosophy" and "Practice" tending toward the workshop aspect, and the others tending toward my performance stuff.
Here's what's NEW!
Summer 2022 is upon us! I'm playing regularly at the Maroon Creek Club in Aspen, and at Heather's restaurant, in Basalt, with Josefina Méndez, and at the Limelight Hotel in Snowmass with Dave Poulsen (trumpet) and Jonathan Ballou (bass.)
I had an opportunity to sit in recently with the wonderful Karrin Allyson, in Grand Junction at the "Tuscon Room." Karrin was very generous to allow me (on piano) to accompany her and to play my horn on a few tunes. I'm very grateful to have had the experience.
Here are a couple of projects done online:
- An original called "I Believe" with Josefina Méndez - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BzauopkKOoo
- Another original called "While It's Still Light" with the CMU Faculty Quintet- https://bit.ly/3O8tBDT
Thanks for visiting. Take your shoes off. Get your axe out. Grab some water. Hang around awhile.
Tim

I've been extremely fortunate, for over 10 years now, to count myself among the musicians with whom Josefina Méndez choses to perform. Josefina is a fine singer and musician, who's grasp of jazz and latin styles is comprehensive, and who's voice shimmers.

I've enjoyed performing with Dave Poulsen over the last 25 years or so in various jazz oriented groups. Elements is a fun mixture of jazz and funk and rock.
