Session Notes 04.07.2005

| | Comments (0)

Last night, we peeked at a few transcriptions:
-Michael Breker's solo on Impressions (you can find the transcription here).
-Tom Harell's solo on "I Can't Get Started" (find it here).

Mark Gray shared with us his charted out diminished-whole tone and m7b5 scales. I'll get those posted as pdfs soon.

When we were sufficiently inspired and confused, we played:
-Are You Real (Benny Golson)
-Whisper Not (Benny Golson)
-Softly, As In A Morning Sunrise

On the last tune, as an exercise, we worked on playing eighth notes exclusively in our solos.
