In our first session, we introduced each other, talked some logistics, and listened to Chet Baker's rendition of "Autumn Leaves", while watching his solo on the overhead projector. We also handed out some materials, including a theory locater exercise to be handed back in the second session.
The second session, we listened to Kenny Dorham's Blue Bossa, and then we had everyone play a little bit in different configurations...
The third session, we split into two groups (some people were on Spring Break vacation). One stayed at the CMS bandroom, while the other moved to the RFHS bandroom. Played through some tunes in both groups.
