Welcome to the Roaring Fork Jazz website.
I'm a musician in the Roaring Fork Valley, on the western slope of the Colorado Rockies, in the United States. This site functions as both my professional website, and as the home for the "Roaring Fork Jazz Workshop". Main links on top point to both functions, with "Philosophy" and "Practice" tending toward the workshop aspect, and the others tending toward my performance stuff.
Here's what's NEW!
It's been an interesting few months, with the COVID 19 Pandemic forcing us to remain at least partially isolated, and distanced. I was going to attend my 8th Jamey Aebersold clinic in July, but that was cancelled. Instead, Aebersold and JazzAnywhere.com (Mike Tracy) offered some online classes, and I participated in one called "Jazz Repertoire- Selection, Practice & Performance." Here's a Soudcloud playlist with some tracks that were assignments in the class:

Here are another couple of projects done online:
- An original called "I Belive" - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BzauopkKOoo
- "Alone Together" - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n_s5cTRUOlI
Thanks for visiting. Take your shoes off. Get your axe out. Grab some water. Hang around awhile.

I've been extremely fortunate, the past few years, to count myself among the musicians with whom Josefina Méndez choses to perform. Josefina is a fine singer and musician, who's grasp of jazz and latin styles is comprehensive, and who's voice shimmers.

I've enjoyed performing with Dave Poulsen over the last 25 years or so in various jazz oriented groups. Elements is a fun mixture of jazz and funk and rock.
